Monroe County Dementia Coalition

brain imageThe Monroe County Dementia Coalition is a group of like-minded individuals who come together for the purpose of offering education, resources, and support for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Education, resources, and support will also be offered to the caregiver and healthcare professionals of the community to help in making a paradigm shift of acknowledging remaining strengths of the person living with dementia instead of what abilities have been lost. Also, for caregivers and professionals to focus on person-centered care and remaining abilities as there are abilities at every level of dementia.

The person living with dementia and the caregiver whether it be a spouse, family member, or professional caregiver should not walk the dementia journey alone. A team needs to be created for support throughout the journey. The Monroe County Dementia Coalition plans to be on the journey with you by bringing education, resources, and support to Monroe County.
