The Community Foundation of Monroe County offers a growing number of scholarships across many fields. Some support students from a particular school or area, others fund a specific field of study, and some are based on financial need.
How to apply: Start by creating an account on our Online Scholarship Portal (shared with the Scranton Area Community Foundation). You’ll complete a short eligibility questionnaire, and it will direct you to the scholarship(s) you qualify for.
Please note: scholarship payments are made directly to the educational institution, not to the student.
Scholarships that follow a traditional school calendar are open for applications from January 2 to March 1.
CFMC is affiliated with the nationally certified Scranton Area Community Foundation (SACF) for back-office services, including our shared Scholarship Portal. This means some emails may come from SACF’s Foundant system.
Questions? If your scholarship is connected to a school, start with your school’s guidance or financial aid office. For all other scholarships, contact Samantha Holbert at Director@cfmcpa.org or 570-213-9083.
