Scholarships

The Community Foundation of Monroe County offers a growing number of scholarships in various fields. As we have more scholarship funds, some will help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study, and some assist students who are most in need.

Please note that payments will be made directly to the educational institution, not to the student.  Students interested in one or more of our scholarships should first create an account through the Online Scholarship Portal, which we use in conjunction with the Scranton Area Community Foundation, to complete an eligibility questionnaire. After completing the eligibility questionnaire, the student will be directed to the scholarship application(s) for which they qualify.

*The Community Foundation of Monroe County is affiliated with the nationally certified Scranton Area Community Foundation (SACF) for back-office administrative services, which includes sharing the use of their Scholarship Portal. This means that some emails may come from the SACF Foundant system to applicants.

To learn more about scholarship opportunities, reach out to your school’s guidance or financial aid department, or contact Samantha Holbert at Director@cfmcpa.org if your scholarship is not with a school.  Scholarships that follow a traditional school calendar are available for application from January to March 1st.
